The Bobby Scruggs Memorial Foundation

Special Thanks:

This year's inaugural event for The Bobby Scruggs Memorial Foundation is very special for our family.  We will honor Bobby Scruggs, who left us too soon on January 22, 2005, for his belief in helping young students enter careers of their choice.  He was a very special individual who always had time to listen or counsel with anyone who needed his assistance.  We are very proud to say the scholarship funds raised at this event will help deserving studnets attend college or technical training of their choice.  Over time, we alse expect Bobby's Foundation to help in the fight against cancer.

Scholarships cause "the butterfly effect" - the popular notion that when a butterfly flaps its wings in Asia the action may eventually alter the course of a tornado in Kansas.  A college scholarship can have a similar ripple effect, especially for hard-working but financially limited individuals.  It can change the life of a boy or girl, and eventually the lives of many others.

On behalf fo the Scruggs Family, we would like to thank you and tell you how grateful we are for your participation in this inaugural Bobby Scruggs Memorial Foundation event.  Because of your support in making this a successful evening, we will be able to continue Bobby's legacy of helping other for years to come.  "So let us run the race that is before us and never give up (Hebrew 12:1)."  In the words of Bobby Scruggs, "Never Give Up, Go Over, Go Under, Go Around, But Never Give Up!!"

Our sincere thanks to the NASCAR Family, Martinsville Speedway, Foundation for Roanoke Valley, BB&T, WDBJ-7, Martinsville Henry County Economic Development Corporation, South Main Auto, Caution Flag, Winner's Circle, and the many others who have contributed items or their time to this endeavor.
